The New York Genome Center’s (NYGC) Deputy Scientific Director, Toby Bloom, PhD, spoke at the “Data-Driven Innovation” panel in Manhattan, co-hosted by Google and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Bloom joined the panel focusing on data for social good and how it ties into her work at NYGC. Moderated by Google’s Associate Manager of Global Industry, Jeff Buchan, the panel explored topics surrounding how organizations are using data for social good and how non-profits are harnessing the power of data.
Dr. Bloom explained the importance of NYGC needing a tremendous amount of data to make the kind of discoveries we strive for, and stressed the importance of having this data for medical research.
