In response to the recent policy change enacted by the National Institute of Health (NIH), the New York Genome Center drafted a petition calling on the reversal of the NIH Indirect Cost Cap (NOT-OD-25-068). The policy change caps all indirect cost reimbursement for grants at 15 percent, severely impacting the foundation of scientific research, technology innovation, healthcare advancements, and education across the nation.
Notably, the petition has received over 9,000 signatures in support of the reversal, including 55 Nobel Laureates in chemistry, physics, medicine, and economics. These Nobel Laureates are individuals or organizations awarded the Nobel Prize, one of the world’s most prestigious honors, for outstanding contributions in their fields.
