On January 15, 2021, Michael Zody, PhD, Scientific Director, Computational Biology, New York Genome Center (NYGC), presented a 10-minute overview of COVID-19 genomics research at the NYGC at Bionano Genomics’ virtual Next-Generation Cytogenomics Symposium.
Dr. Zody was a featured speaker at the symposium’s panel focused on the work of the COVID-19 Host Genome Structural Variation (SV) Consortium, which released its first study, analyzing the genomes of 37 patients with severe COVID-19 disease, the previous week. Dr. Zody is a member of the SV consortium as a part of his NYGC COVID-19 genomics research activities and a co-author on the study preprint.
