The New York Genome Center (NYGC) welcomes Dr. Greg Hannon as Associate Core Member and Director of Cancer Genomics.
At NYGC Dr. Hannon will facilitate studies of cancer genomes, and run a research group focused on breast cancer and small RNA biology.

Darnell, NYGC’s President, CEO and Scientific Director. “His deep commitment, expertise and energy will help us reap the power of cancer genomic science to benefit of patients.”
Dr. Hannon has accepted numerous awards including the AACR Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cancer Research, the Pew Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences award, the National Academy of Sciences Award in Molecular Biology, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Paul Marks Prize for Cancer Research and most recently the U.S. Army Breast Cancer Research Program Collaborative Scholars and Innovators Award.
Dr. Hannon is an advisor at The Artemis Project for a Preventive Breast Cancer Vaccine at the National Breast Cancer Coalition and a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Vienna.
Dr. Hannon is also the Royal Society Wolfson Research Professor at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute at the University of Cambridge and an Adjunct Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
Dr. Hannon received his B.A. in Biochemistry and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Case Western Reserve University.
