Center for Integrated Cellular Analysis Virtual Series Seminar

The Center for Integrated Cellular Analysis Virtual Series focuses on new computational and analytical methods for single-cell multi-omics.
Our next seminar will take place on Tuesday, August 17 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM (EDT) and will feature:

Clonal fitness inferred from time-series modelling of single-cell cancer genomes (Nature, June 23, 2021)

Presented by Farhia Kabeer, PhD, Postdoctoral Researcher, Aparicio Lab

Farhia will present joint work from Sohrab Shah and Sam Aparicio’s labs. Their study introduces fitClone, a machine-learning approach that builds upon principles in population genetics in order to predict evolutionary trajectories during cancer progression and treatment. They merge these computational tools with new technologies for single-cell genome sequencing and apply them to accurately forecast clonal dynamics in patient-derived xenograft models.

The Center for Integrated Cellular Analysis was established at the New York Genome Center in 2020. Funded through the Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science (CEGS) program of the National Human Genome Research Institute, the mission of the Center is to develop a comprehensive suite of technologies and analytical methods to measure and integrate the molecular and environmental determinants of cellular identity. The Center represents a collaboration between six institutions across NYC. To learn more about the investigators, projects, and educational opportunities, please visit the center website:
