Barbara Rosati, PhD
Board Member, NYGC Director, Single Cell Genomics, Research Assistant Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook UniversityDr. Barbara Rosati is a faculty member in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics in the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University and also serves as a Research Scientist and IACUC Chairperson at the Northport VA Medical Center.
She obtained a PhD. in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Milan, Italy. In 2000, she joined the Molecular Cardiology Institute at Stony Brook University. In 2002 she joined the Department of Physiology and Biophysics as a Research Assistant Professor.
Dr. Rosati is an active researcher and teacher in the field of molecular physiology. In addition, Dr. Rosati helped run the Stony Brook University DNA Sequencing Facility until 2006, and now serves as Director of the Single Cell Genomics Facility at Northport VAMC and Stony Brook University.
Under Dr. Rosati’s leadership, the Single Cell Genomics Facility has steadily expanded its customer base and capabilities. The Facility provides local researchers with access to new single cell technologies and support with experimental design and analysis. Dr. Rosati is dedicated to fostering a collaborative research environment, mentoring emerging investigators and their staff, and promoting the integration of single cell approaches into diverse fields of study.
